About
Wilden Dannenberg is a multifaceted musician committed to engaging listeners in a range of musical styles and experiences. Recent highlights include the Weill Hall premiere of a Carnegie Hall commission by composer TJ Cole, multiple collaborations as a conductor and performer with Pulitzer Prize winning composer Tania León, and performances aired on NPR and WQXR.
Wilden enjoys exploring versatile and sometimes adventurous roles of the horn, performing with the Deep Roots Ensemble– musicians specializing in the bridging of American Roots and Western Classical traditions, as well as ensembles devoted to improvisation and graphic, animated, and non-traditional notations. He is committed to expanding the solo and chamber repertoire for horn, regularly performing with groups such as International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Echappé and Talea Ensemble.
He is on the faculty of Adelphi University, an artist-member of Bronx Arts Ensemble, and New York based Frisson Ensemble, and is an alumnus of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect. His arrangements have been performed and recorded frequently by the aforementioned groups. Wilden enjoys the fulfilling role of Director of Music and Organist at the Episcopal Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew in Brooklyn, New York, and is the Assistant Director and pianist of the Westchester County- based Hudson Chorale. Originally from Perry, Georgia, he holds degrees from Florida State and Stony Brook Universities.
